The Gate
Verse I pt. I: Far Away, You Will Betray, Cast the Earth, to Yesterday
Verse I pt. II: Isolation, Suffocating your mind
Desolation, leaving you blind
Chorus I: You Can’t Escape, Your Fate Today
Each Breath You Take, Will Seal Your Gate
Locked Away, Hell’s Masquerade
Silently, You Will Obey
Verse II pt. I: Cast Away, and Left Betrayed, Cursed Us All, to Fill Your Plate
Verse II pt. II: Isolation, Suffocating your mind
Desolation, leaving you blind
Chorus II: You Can’t Escape, Your Fate Today
Each Breath You Take, Has Sealed Your Gate
Locked Away, Hell’s Masquerade
Silently, You Have Obeyed
In Your Grave, A Life Enslaved
In the Darkness, You Will Decay
You Brought Them Here, In False Despair
Corpses Rain, Everywhere
Bridge:
Verse III pt. I: Cast Away, and Left Enslaved, Destroyed Us All, to Earn Your Place
Verse III pt. II: Isolation, Suffocating your mind
Desolation, leaving you blind
Chorus III: You Can’t Escape, Your Fate Today
Each Breath You Take, Has Sealed Your Gate
Locked Away, Hell’s Masquerade
Silently, You Have Obeyed
In Your Grave, A Life Enslaved
In the Darkness, You Will Decay
You Brought Them Here, In False Despair
Corpses Rain, Everywhere
Outro:
This is their most black metal sounding album. Later albums started to sound like modern metal or with hints of djent influence.
Great debut by the band. I love Dark Souls and black metal, so this is great! Sid

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
